Comments: Would like to say I think this is a great web site about the USS Gurke and proud to say I served aboard. However I do not find anyone I served with that I remember. Of course it has been 45 years and we all know what time does to the memory. If anyone remembers me say HI.

Comments: My father, Larry Ruth (Lawrence B. Ruth, Jr.), served aboard the USS Gurke, including at the time it served with others as a "sitting duck" off of Inchon in 1950. He passed away in 1976. While sorting through old documents and photos, I by chance searched for USS Gurke on-line and found this remarkable site. If anyone who reads this remembers my father, I would be delighted to hear from them. Thanks and best wishes, Rick Ruth
