Baking Powder Biscuits

Flour 14 Pounds
Baking Powder 1 1/2 Cups
Salt 5 Tablespoons
Shortning 1 3/4 Quarts
Milk (Variable) 1 3/8 Gallons
  • Sift flour, salt and baking powder together. Cut in shortning and mix to a fine crumb. Add milk and mix to a soft dough.
  • Roll dough 1/2 inch thick. Cut with 2-inch floured biscuit cutter. Place side by side on ungreased baking sheets.
  • Bake at 425 degrees for 12-15 minutes. Serve hot.
